Re: Westell 327W modem router The green light on your modem means that the wireless setting in your modem is turned on. Which means that if it is unsecured that anyone within the range of your modem. To turn the wireless off in the modem you need to:
make sure you are hardwired to the modem
open your browser
type in 192.168.1.1 in address bar
log into your modem (the user name is admin and the password is probably admin also... if that doesn't work try password)
Click on the wireless icon at the top
you should be able to turn the wireless off.
That will take care of the green light being on on your modem.
The dsl light is suppose to be on and solid. That is what tells you that you are in sync with Verizon.
The power light lets you know there is power to the modem. That also must always be green. If it turns red there is something wrong with the modem and needs to be replaced.
The internet light will blink when data is being received or sent through the modem.
