hey Rocky we should get a call of duty 4 tournament over xbox live sometime in the future.
I'd be down for that. Either that or Rainbow Six: Vegas 2.

Yeah there was some serious lag for a while there. Secondly there's an issue with the Dustbowl 2 map! The game ends and starts a completely different series of maps after you capture the first point!

Just a question, is multiple connections from the same ip going to be allowed for this tournament? My brother and I play TF2 and both of us would like to give it a try.

I think that it will be difficult to declare a "winner" in a game like TF2 as it IS TEAM Fortress 2. Being a team game individual scores should count as much as everyone is supposed to play as a team to achieve the goals.

Do you score higher by getting all the flag caps as a scout while the engineer stays behind to protect the flag?

It turns into a scout foot race then as it's teammate against teammate trying to cap the most to get the most points.

Also if it's points based then like in my favorite dustbowl, always play as defense and rack up the points as it's much harder on offense.

Just my 2 cents.

naw won't be a issue with the mod Gabe installed it's based off of your kill death ratio

krazyups

@wet-group.com

I foresee this being a problem, with everyone choosing to be a demoman and just camping, waiting for people to come by.

I agree with Jethro in that it will be difficult to declare a singular winner from a team game. It would almost be better (from a team standpoint, that is), if all the players on the team voted for the "MVP" of that match (or at the end of the particular map before loading the next one), that way it should hopefully push people into working for the team. This might mean selecting a class that historically has a low kpd ratio (read: medic), since as it stands right now I see no one playing as a medic (based on the above screenshot, I'm not sure about the red team).

Just my .02, I look forward to competing nonetheless.

How come the server is empty? Are we waiting for official rules etc to start? I go on but there are 0/20 users.

Game Day!

So here's what we're thinking as a first attempt:

Winner: Best percentage (Kill vs. Deaths)
Rules:

1 - Must be a TSI customer
2 - No swearing (being as some of this will land up online)
3 - TSI Employees can play but they can't win.
4 - One Winner per DSL connection
5 - Must register your TF2 NIC with us in order to win. ( »teksavvy.com/en/gamerapp.asp?ID=7&mID=1 )

Option 1 for Purse:

$1,000 Winner take all

or

Option 2 for Purse:

First: $750
Second: $200
Third: $50
Top 5 receive TSI Swag (Hat & Shirt)

How to connect to the TSI Gaming Server

1) on your steam account click on "Servers"
2) on the Favorites tab press the right click button on your mouse
3) Add server by IP address
4) you can enter either gaming.teksavvy.com OR 206.248.144.66
5) Double click on Team Fortess which has just appeared under your favorites tab
6) have fun fragging
7) the "," key is to change unit type
8) the "." key is to switch opposing factions
9) Have fun!

basically the game today has no one team playing and tons of soldiers because of kpd = win.

i started playing TF2 because teamplay was rewarded. so i wasted my time today playing medic since all i ended up doing was boosting others kpd and wasting my time before i knew it was kpd. i don't play quake and i don't care about deathmatch style games. this tournament is not a draw for anyone who was actually interested in playing team fortress as a team. pick another game next time like HL2DM is this is what is going to happen.

sorry people, but i was super pumped for this one, but sadly disappointed.

I don't think I am going to be able to get a windows machine up and running.

I already have Orange box for PS3, anybody else out there with console versions?

I just signed up and I'm not connected yet. My kids are itching to play and will probably do well. How is the winner chosen? If they joined the game Thursday or Friday would thay still have a chance? Do they have to play via our teksavvy caaount or can they go to the public library computer and duke it out?
