so, i'm looking to get TF2 through steam, then a thought occured.. they don't use BitTorrent protocol to download steam content do they? lol
no they have content servers
World of Warcraft *does* use p2p for distribution of patches. Think about what the wow junkies are going to do when they find they are being throttled and can't get their patch right away!

Oh man, he uses OE? Does that mean we can pull a gaben and steal the source code to TekSavvy's automated beaver launcher?
Yes but we must be careful, there's two buttons. If we press the wrong one, the beaver will land on Nexxia and destroy the ATM network!

Whoa whoa whoa... I just got the email, and was it really necessary?

I mean.. my mom uses TSI for business... I don't think she wants to read about people kicking A$$ at the big barn... hahaha...

Most of the gamers would probably be on DSLR anyway, methinks...?

I'm a hardcore TF2 player but I don't start with Teksavvy until April 4th, can i play

I prepaid though hehe
Your PPPoE login should work before the 4th. That should allow you to play.

You think blizzard would notice this at the size it is? Really, in the grand scheme of things, Ontario/Quebec users probably barely register in the user base.

Looks like I still need to fix a few things on the server. Should be online within the next 30 mins.

what is the criteria for scoring?

kill death?

most kills?

most points with an HLstats type plugin?

I'm guessing most points, otherwise it'd just imbalance the game and everyone would be headhunting.

Hey Rocky,

Not trying to knock the competition or anything I think its a awesome idea! A great way to take the stress of bell off for a limited few who own the game. Maybe if theres ever another competition like this you could consider a game thats public access like Americas Army so all TSIers can get in on it.

$1000!!! Thats a truely respectable prize, ty from all of us for putting that up .

Another idea, maybe try spreading it around next time, like 1st place 1 yr Free TSI service, 2nd place 6 months Free Tsi, you get the idea, you could even give 1 month free to first 20 people to sign up for the tourney.

Just my two cents, hopefully I can get a copy of the game in time for the weekend.

Thanks again Rocky for making TSI an even more special ISP with this announcement.

You'd think that, and you'd be wrong; the vast majority of TSI's customer base, including gamers, has never even heard of DSLR. It's likely that they know somebody through one or more degrees that is on DSLR, though, due to the organic nature by which TSI grew with zero advertising.

The e-mail, though, simultaneously let users know about the Bell throttling, and that was an e-mail that had to go out to every customer anyhow.

I just hope the tournament times are split evenly with half in the evening and the other half in the morning.

That way people that work in the night get to compete, and people that work during the day get to compete.

You can get a copy right now from steam and buy/download it online. It's only like $29 or something.

I have not seriously played a video game since Zelda II Link on the original Nintendo. Think I have a chance? LOL

If you need a compiler to compile a compiler then where did the first compiler come from?

If you log in to the 2 day practice tournament, you will stand a chance.
