| Azureus & Limewire Blocked??????
I've been trying to load up the Azureus and it fails to connect because port 49965 is blocked. Same thing with Limewire, it won't even load up because that port will not accept inbound connections. Can anyone please help me out, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks |

| reply to Beast84 An ISP can't block you from using an application. Unless what you meant to say was they blocked the BitTorrent protocol. What they CAN do is also block specific ports, but you can just find new ones. In anycase, they didn't block anything as I am torrenting as i type this at full speed.
As mentioned above, open the port you want to use on you're router. »portforward.com can help you do this if you're unsure. Good luck! |

@verizon.net | reply to Beast84 Which port#'s are you guys using? Whenever azureus loads it says "port is likely being firewalled" "Socket selector.open failed 10 times in a row" |

1 edit | reply to Beast84 I think you should read what I posted about about forwarding ports.
Ports to use are in this range: 49512 to 65535
People aren't going to give you the exact port they use, so don't bother asking. Its like asking for the keys to their house. |

Big whoopdedo. You do know that one of the fundementals of P2P is that you essentially advertise your IP and port number for others to connect to you? |
