Milwaukee, WI | Is there more then meets the eyes I posted with link back to article on another forum and somebody brought up the growing number if Indie labels, so in part of the greater scam is it possible that Indies have been targeted now automatically and that the Five dollar charge is partial punishment and payment for being an Independent musician.
No matter what the actual reason is, the bottom line is about the collection of money.
There is a huge quantity of totally legal music on the internet the implentation of filters and a fee that will be assessed to EVERY consumer is at the least unfair (to be polite) and at the worst.....use whatever words come to mind.
The next step would become the war of audio formats and ways to bypass the filter. No matter how this is looked at any filter protection scheme will be broken but the monney will be collected.
Ie: Nothing gained for the consumer, only loss. |

| Good Lord.. For cryin' out loud, there are way more pressing matters in the world today than piracy! It just astounds me how bloodsucking groups of lawyers (the **AA's) try to make peoples' lives hell, while there are wars that need to be ended, hunger that needs to stop, and so many other life-and-death issues all over the world. Also, as some have said, it's not like the Artists will see so much as a dime of this money. |
