If the area is mostly aerial, they usually come back and do underground utility areas last. Unfortunately, it can take a year or so until they bring the fiber into those underground areas. I know in the past and this happens to a lot of AT&T U-Verse and Verizon FIOS people, the marketing people go around and say it's available, but the problem is when you call their system hasn't updated yet w/ your address. Have you tried to call since you've gotten that bro? If not I would of wait 2 - 4wks and by then their systems should of updated.

Oh and by the way normally, Verizon FiOS is usually ran under ground depending on the Verizon agreement w/ the city. But if your house has under ground utlities, then I would say it's safe to say that the fiber optic cable in under ground. Especially if your Verizon telephone cable coming from the TelCo box is underground and then comes up to your house.
