 Server Security need Ideas***

I am building a secure Server/client setup that i will later use to integrate into a business environment for one of my clients. (This is my home file server setup i am experimenting on)

I want to get as secure as possible without sacrificing too many system resources.

I have:
Server (File server)
Active directory Domain controller - Patches Fully updated.
Folder permissions and groups are set.
Spyware blaster Spybot search and destroy,
Symantec Corporate Anti Virus server.

Clients:
XP Full windows sp2 + updates.
Spyware blaster Spybot search and destroy,
Symantec Clients scheduled to scan and update from Server.

I was also looking for a similar server based Anti spy ware scanner that can be managed from the server but did not find,

Let me know if you have an recommendations. Id ideally like to combine the anti virus scanner and anti spyware into one.

I don't have any firewalls setup, I am currently looking for options. Can i run a firewall a server and channel my internet connection through it? ICS?
should i create a server dedicated just for that purpose... ?

Thank you

I wouldn't touch this with a ten foot pole.

But I will recommend you start here.

Then work to application security, HIPS, preimeter protection, user input validation, logging and security auditing.

I'm thinking that if it's going to be a business system, somewhere, somehow people may be trusting their customer information to this server. Since you didn't even consider perimeter protection or application security, God help the customers...
