cable length

Because of a problem with trees I will have to mount the dish on my old 4" C-Ban post that is anchored in concrete along side my Directv dish. That's 120 feet from the house will that length of cable cause any problems?

many thanks maparus

That length of cable should not cause a problem.. 250-300 is max. The cable tips and cable type.. ie rg6u cable should be used. cable tips should be sealed with silicone and should not have water or be corroded. let me know.

just an addition from the post above. For a more conservative connection avoiding packet loss, atleast 100 meters is enough then use inline amplifier in between if the needed length is really long.

my highspeed connection from the line is 1500+ feet from the pole to my house (we got a long private driveway) and it is fine, i am sure 120 feet is no problem!
