said by LiQuiD :*clicks* hey mods Reason for moderation: Can we get the subject line changed in the first post so that we get more hits and hits on people that aren't looking for throttling posts on google? kthx We're not going to moderate threads to generate more (or less) traffic, no.

We can always post in his facebook. *lol* Usually, companies don't take good positive views if you have an online profile.

| reply to Jamesy Privacy concerns? It was a public profile up until a few hours ago.
At any rate, I've posted the story here:

I'd love to hear why Laszlo thinks I'm a lemming? |

| reply to iconfat Even IF this is the same person as the name used by the Bell PR person, he is allowed a private life. As long as his facebook doesn't portray anything illegal, you should really leave the guy alone. He has a personal life and a public life.
Consider also the possibility that this person may be agains the throttling, but he must still do his day job which constist of being the devil's advocate.
And remember that he is not the one who made that deicison to buy all that fancy equipment from Ellacoya and/or Sandvine. It was someone higher up who was impressed by some powerpoint poresentation and ordered Bell to order a whole buch of those boxes. |

| reply to jfmezei Pay attention to his three status update commentary from the images. He obviously isn't against throttling but it's true he must do his job to defend Bell.
BUT he's calling journalists lemmings...anyone will try to bite him back.
Although i agree posting his other personal information (that isn't "Bell" related) is not something I would do. As long as it is something related to this throttling story, i see no harm to post any additional information anyone can find. |

| reply to Last Parade It's very nice that people on this forum are so considerate of the media relations guy's private life. How very Canadian and polite, it's sweet. But it's really too bad he didn't figure out the privacy settings of Facebook earlier in life. I guess they didn't teach The Facebook in PR school. Public domain = fair game.
The real issue is how this gaffe opens a window onto the internal workings of Bell's PR machine and the attitudes of the people that work on this file with respect to media scrutiny.
Please people, don't miss the big picture here!

Please, this guy is posting remarks to a public profile on facebook that shows his and by extension his employer's absoulute disdain for the media and the public. He's flaunting the fact that he lies on behalf of Bell Canada - his arrogance knows no bounds.
Bell Canada wanted a war? Well, too bad if Jason Laszlo is the first solider to fall...he made it public, he's fair game....not our fault he's too stupid to know about privacy controls... |

| reply to jfmezei A) He's in public relations. B) He decided to mix his public and private life by leaving his facebook account open and talking about his job C) No, surely he didn't decide to throttle the network and install the equipment himself, but he REPRESENTS the company that did it, to the public.
Besides, the (seemingly arbitrary) decision they made negatively affects more people than just illegal file downloaders. The implications of this decision are far reaching.
I understand you're trying to play devil's advocate but I don't see how you can defend a PUBLIC RELATIONS employee publically making a fool out of himself and his company. |

| reply to Remarkk Hey if your in a position of power you have to watch out for the public eye. Thats how life goes. His profile was set to public meaning he was either too cocky or had no concerns previously.
This week has gone from bad to worse for bell, I guarantee that image will end up in the CBC on blogs and in papers.
It is this sort of blatant corporate disrespect for its customers and media that the public loves. It makes it much easier for the uniformed internet user to support net neutrality and a reversal of bells throttling policy.
Now all we need is a press release from Mt Sinai Hospital indicating that these practices are putting the lives of citizens in danger. Winning public opinion (and ultimately influencing government decisions) is whats important here.
Blocking copyrighted materials in torrents (which is not illegal in Canada BTW) is not the same as throttling all encrypted traffic.
Also, how the hell does peak usage time end up being a 10 hour stretch? 2-3 I can see but thats nearly half of the day.
Unbelievable. |

| reply to jfmezei If he wanted to keep his views private then he shouldn't be posting them on Facebook or any other public forum. I submit that someone in "media relations" should be aware of the issues here. If his views differ from what he puts forward on behalf of his employer, then he'd be wise to think twice before publicizing them. Personally, I don't understand why people post their lives on the Internet for anyone and everyone to see. |

| reply to Jamesy Being a PR person for a company is not a licence to lie and be able to shield yourself behind the fact that you are doing your job.
If a person is a PR for the government and he lied in public on a public interest subject, is it still ok even if he says he is just doing his job ? |
