Pacific energy will push into the Rockies as the flow amplifies across the region. The precipitation will be mainly near and north of a thermal boundary across central Utah and Nevada into Colorado. A southwest flow will increase across the Great Basin increasing the chance of snow across the favored terrain regions. A low-level easterly flow will cause snow across Wyoming and the high plains. Snowfall amounts may be near a foot on some places.
Energy will track across the northern Plains tonight and into Canada, Strong divergence and warm advection east if the system will cause snow with amounts of 4 inches.
A ridge across New England will result in cold air damming east of the mountains resulting in freezing rain across the central Appalachians as moistures overruns the cold air.
