It is a DSL Modem with a Router and AP added to in to make it a "3 in 1" device. Since it does not have a WAN Ethernet port it cannot be used on a Cable setup as a Router since it only supports DSL on the WAN interface. You can use it as a "dumb" 10/100 multi-port Switch/AP once you turn off it's DHCP server and let another Router handle the DHCP instead. You would only have use of the LAN ports and the Wireless.
