Petition to boycott Creative!

Not sure if everyone has heard about this whole deal with Creative and their acts against a volunteer coder who they're now threatening with legal action, but check it out:

»boycottcreative.com/

And the petition, if you're convinced:

Because of the crap creative is pulling I can honestly say I will never buy another creative product again. Shame on them. Great way to force people into purchasing new products by refusing to release suitable drivers for newer os

newegg has sent the creative forum a letter saying that they are dropping the products related to this as for now until something changes!!! Yay!

Creative ripped me off, refusing to honor warranty and refusing to give tech support after only one month!!!

EVERYONE: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go to the link and DIGG IT!!! It's time for us to fight back.

Creative refused to honor a warranty with me once and told me to take my business elsewhere, and, mind you, I was being very pleasant with the tech rep on the phone. When I reported that they did this to me, I was banned in their forums for saying it happened. Then they told me that my one month of tech support was over!!!

BOYCOTT CREATIVE LABS!!! Don't buy anything from them, and please, Digg it!!!

Don't be lazy, if I had to go to page 117, you can do it too. Yes, I know their site is a PITA to use, there is now way to navigate to the last post or navigate anywhere quickly, but please don't make me have to go through that again, please do it yourself, ok?

Yeah, too many typos, and not signed by an individual. It's going to do more harm than good.

Creative owns the software and individuals don't have the right to modify it and then distribute Creative's property, modified to others.

But what about them condoning it and then telling him he can't do it anymore?

He was soliciting and collecting donations for modifying Creative's property and also enabling Creative's software to run on non-Creative hardware...both against the specific direction of Creative?
He should be locked up.

I have not bought any Creative product since my Awe32 sound card and especially since they sued Aureal out of business.

Dude, WRONG!!! It WASN'T THEIR SOFTWARE. THEY PROVIDED OPEN SOURCE INFORMATION THAT HE USED TO WRITE **HIS OWN*** STUFF WITH!!!

And, furthermore, they condoned him doing so for weeks, months, and did so with Audigy stuff too, because they are too f'ing lazy and stupid to produce a software themselves that DELIVERS WHAT THEY ADVERTISE RIGHT ON THE BOX!!!

He did NOTHING WRONG. Get real!

I had Mic problems with 2 Creative Soundcards, that's when i used the mic alot, anyways i'd go to use it, and it didn't work, i'd call Tech support, and they would refuse to help, finally called again, and demanded some help, even lied and said it was not past 90 day purchase, of course they still wouldn't help, first card it happened on was an SB Audigy 2 Platinum, Second Card SB Live 24 card.

What i never understood is why a Mic port went, when i wasn't using it every minute, but i swear had the mic plugged into right port, had it unmuted, and it still wouldn't work in any program. That's when i stopped buying Creative soundcards, been using Onboard sound for months. I posted countless messages in there forums, and didn't get any help. Infact let me goto there forum at there site, and see if i can find one of my old posts, which i'll copy and post here(or a little of it)

"HEY

Mic won't work in rear or front of my Audigy 2 Platinum, what in the world am I suppose to do to get it working huh? I want it working as soon as possible, or I want a check for $500 dollars to cover the cost of a new PC case so I can use my Onboard sound, and junk this Piece of Junk, if I have to I will call Creative support daily until I get something done about this.

I WANT MY MIC WORKING AS SOON AS POSSIBlE, DO YOU HEAR ME. SOMEONE REPLY__URGENT--wanted to make something for Girlfriend, and I don't have much time to do that, but I want my mic working as soon as possible, or this will be a problem that you'll never hear the end of, I swear, I will keep it up daily until I get this problem fixed I guarantee it."

Creative Forum Response:
"Bikeman,

Normally I would suggest contacting support for an RMA at this point, as it sounds like you card itself has a problem (that or you have a hardware conflict that has a symptom that I haven't seen before); however you sound intent on using onboard audio so I suppose that isn't an option you are considering.

Since you had already decided that you weren't going to work with the Audigy 2, I don't understand why you would make this post with the threat to keep coming back until the problem was solved. If you have no intention of trying to solve it, then it would seem kind of a pointless request. Still, my suggestion is to contact support to get an RMA for the card.

Jeremy

Forum Expert"

I sure had a temper then with Creative lol
