If the former, did you verify that your AP isn't running on a channel that conflicts with other APs? Maybe other APs in your area are running on adjacent channels that's causing some overlap? Are there other radio signals that might be causing the same issue (cordless phones, microwaves, etc.)?

I just got this program called netinfo that gives much more detailed information about my connection. Its showing that the number of hops to my dns server is 4231528!!!
I have 5 dns servers in the list. The first one from opendns seemed to be affected by this outrageous number of hops. So I removed it from the list and used netinfo again. Netinfo then showed other dns servers having the same problem but previously had not been affected. Is this some kind of DOS against my router? I removed the entire list of dns servers and am now using Treewalk DNS. My connection seems fine now but I would really like an answer for the above problem.
