Not monitoring but I can ping it

I do not see anything on either my paid premium or a basic account for two different static IPs that I have setup.

I login correctly and I have paid $10 for a premium and added the static IP ( not much more like Zip codes etc)

Did not see anything after 2 days except 100 packet loss line.
So I added my local IP as a basic account.

I can ping both addresses, Could I have an account problem ?
Or does it need every single question answered like who is your isp etc ?

Thanks
Peter

I know it works as I have used it years ago and was impressed with the graphs

There is no need for third party software - if your IP changes, you can always edit your monitor to reflect the new IP.

You just need to do 2 things when you set it up:

1) enter your current IP in the static IP box AND 2) check the "dynamic" box. You must do both.

It should look something like this:

Even though I am trying to monitor a STATIC IP and the setup specifically says - or - I will follow your suggestion and click DYNAMIC

It seems as bad as naming your dog "stay".

Best

(come here "stay")

ROFL...Sorry for laughing but that struck my funny bone.

Let us know if "stay" works.

Glad you liked it, just out of curiosity, what does "IP from this DNS" mean ?

Pete

This explains it better than I could:

No it did not solve the problem.

Choosing Static AND Dynamic seems like random button pushing to fix a problem.

I deleted my account and will try to set it up again from scratch.

Sorry that didn't work. I do know that you need to check the Dynamic IP and complete the "Monitor this static IP" for the monitoring to work even when you have a static IP.

One more question - Are you using your IP address or your router's IP address? You should be using your IP address not the router's IP.

Try going here: »whatismyip.com/ . That is the IP you should be using for line monitoring.

Second question - Do you belong to any of the Line Monitor Groups on the site? If you do then the monitoring is free, if not then it will cost you 0.25 tool points weekly for the monitoring. If you don't have tool points then you can't monitor.
