1 edit | I had Mic problems with 2 Creative Soundcards, that's when i used the mic alot, anyways i'd go to use it, and it didn't work, i'd call Tech support, and they would refuse to help, finally called again, and demanded some help, even lied and said it was not past 90 day purchase, of course they still wouldn't help, first card it happened on was an SB Audigy 2 Platinum, Second Card SB Live 24 card.
What i never understood is why a Mic port went, when i wasn't using it every minute, but i swear had the mic plugged into right port, had it unmuted, and it still wouldn't work in any program. That's when i stopped buying Creative soundcards, been using Onboard sound for months. I posted countless messages in there forums, and didn't get any help. Infact let me goto there forum at there site, and see if i can find one of my old posts, which i'll copy and post here(or a little of it)

Normally I would suggest contacting support for an RMA at this point, as it sounds like you card itself has a problem (that or you have a hardware conflict that has a symptom that I haven't seen before); however you sound intent on using onboard audio so I suppose that isn't an option you are considering.
Since you had already decided that you weren't going to work with the Audigy 2, I don't understand why you would make this post with the threat to keep coming back until the problem was solved. If you have no intention of trying to solve it, then it would seem kind of a pointless request. Still, my suggestion is to contact support to get an RMA for the card.

The truth should be able to stand on its own merits without all the "embellishment". Who freaking cares if it is fake? Seriously! The real crime is Creative lieing to sell product. "Vista Ready" my arse!
Creative Labs, for years, has lied to pad sales, such as claim false crap about what their sound cards can do with things such as MP3 compressed audio. And they have been getting away with such snake oil salesmanship crap.
Just let this go, the real issue is Creative's shameful treatment!!! -- You know your life has gotten "DICEY" when it turns into an episode of LOST, like my ex wife, who I swear is one of "The Others". | What Company refuses to provide Tech support if a product is more than 90 days old(Phone support), ridiciolous in my mind, as well as mic ports dieing on the card that haven't had for a long time, as well as Software problems, driver problems.
I'd even jump for joy Microsoft buying Creative out, or any company, Creative is shameless, lying to pad sales, among other things, forum support not helpful at all(Creative). Microsoft sure doesn't treat customers like Creative does, and i don't know of any other company that does, Still have the mic i was using when the mic port went on those 2 former Creative cards, well it works fine these days. | |   Newegg PR
