| reply to Brocoli Re: [Notebooks] HP Pavilion Laptops - What are the differences?
OK, entirely too many models to comment on individually there, but here goes a brief explanation:
Amongst the HP Pavillion "DV" series, the dv600's (I believe that the dv6700s are the latest?) are 15.4" screens, the dv9700s, 17" screens, and the dv2700s 14.1" screens.
Within the base models, there are tons of variations in CPU type (Intel or AMD), speed, amount of memory and HD size, graphics, etc. For example, I have the HP Pavillion dv6626us (the "us" denoting country intended for)...which is the 15.4" screen with an AMD Turion TL-58 CPU, 160gb drive...etc. One of the silly reasons for so many "number differences" with a model, such as the dv6000 series, is that it gives re-sellers such as Best Buy, the ability to sell an "exclusive to Best Buy" model.
IMHO, I would not concentrate on model numbers...that'll drive you nuts...rather focus on what processor, size hard drive, amount of ram etc., that you want. -- ...something is happening here but you don't know what it is...do you, Mr. Jones? |
