Can somone please send vgrussupp@gmail.com an invite? Thanks As Mazilo stated, the Invite function is not active at this time. However, I'd add that to expedite your request for Grand Central services/subscription, you should consider going to the GC website, and registering for notification regarding the number in the area code you wish. That way, you'll receive the invite/notification directly from them when it's available.
By examining the website you'll find the pages where you can choose the Area Code/State in which you'd like your number, and on that page, you input your email address to facilitate them notifying you directly. |

I'd just like a cheap Voip service with a true softphone that doesn't require a ATA (hence GC)... IIRC, the free services provided by GC isn't a VoIP based service. OTOH, the free services provided by Brring (ads driven) are VoIP based service. ..I had thought the same, but was told otherwise in another thread here recently...
I still wonder. |

| reply to mazilo Work around:
The Brring service works great along with GrandCentral. Follow these steps to get your Brring account working with your GrandCentral number:
- Register with Brring using your GrandCentral number as your private phone number. - Brring will try to make an automated call to finalize your registration but it wont work so just follow the next couple steps to get it set up: - Add your Brring number to your GrandCentral address book. - Go to your address book and then use the call button to call your Brring number. This will make the phone you registered with at GrandCentral ring. Pick it up and follow the automated instructions to complete your Brring account setup. |

If you read my posts on other thread, you should notice that I have encountered this problem, too. To resolve the DTMF detection problem, I forwarded the incoming calls on my Brring to FreeDigits to my asterisk to my PAP2v1. |

I have my Brring number forwarded to my GC. BTW, you don't need an invite to open a Brring account; however, if you know someone who already has a Brring account, you certainly can ask hi/her to send you an invitation and your friend will get $1.00 credited to his account. Sort of a way for Brring to say thank you. -- Mazilo always prays for FREEBIES! US Phone: +1-678-601-0907 UK Phone: +44-703-194-2574

Thanks, yeah, I've been using it for not quite a year now. GrandCentral (with GizmoProject) has been my primary number for most of that time. Works great. I do wonder about their pricing plans once it leaves Beta... just how cheap those features I use will be. (I don't really use "the phone" all that much.) |

When I first heard of GrandCentral, it was open to anyone to subscribe. It *had* been private Beta, and by invitation only.
Then I stumbled upon posts here which indicated that it was freely open. Sure enough, I subbed and got a couple of local numbers. It has since closed again.
Never fear....with Google's capital behind the operation now, it will open again with a TidalWave of a splash!
Patience, young grasshopper....

good point mazilo.....only took me like a half-hour to stumble into the notice about the site being beta and all...can only imagine what it looks like once your logged in... Well, I logged into my account and still could not find the invitation button where it used to be. So, this means no more invitation at the moment. |
