change your smtp email server. Yahoo put in a new security patch that's messed things up for me (error 553). I just called in and they had me change it to smtpauth.sbcglobal.net
They claim it'll be fixed by 4/7, I don't know if I'll have to change it back to the old one then or not. |

| Actually for error 553 they have another fix that's a bit more accepted and a bit easier to use.

| Based on the content of that .pdf file, 'smtp.att.yahoo.com' can't be used as a smarthost for a user's own domain?
I use Mercury/32, and have two users on the premises. It seems that having each user set up with their own Mercury/32 account won't work properly with this new Yahoo! security measure. The Mercury "C" relay client is configured to use the Primary account, but the log in is different between that and the sub accounts. So user "A", with an email address associated with the Primary account has no problem sending; but user "B", with a sub account which email address is not associated with the Primary account is SOL. Or so it seems. I'll probably play around with it some more later this week. For now, 'smtpauth.sbcglobal.net' works as a smarthost. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |
