Comcast's new slogan will be Stay the Course. Even though we're wrong, we'll try every way to pretend we weren't. Albeit, we try to sell our customers on how we're now consumer friendly, while still continuing to do said practice. WTG Comcast, does that jar of vasoline come with or without a contract? |

I had some big guy from jersey show up at my home the other day. Said I sent him a forged packet instead of packet 684943 of Debbie Does Dallas 3.avi which killed his download.
I almost lost my life that day.... because of a forged packet.

1 edit | Well if you want to get down to the truth of it, some institutions actually use p2p like products to share data among their branches. If Comcast does this on more than a customer basis, then yes, people could be affected. As with packet sniffing / forged packets, you don't know what gets blocked. This software is less than perfect so legitimate traffic could be interfered with. I doubt it's claiming lives but it opens them up to a lot of legal problem as Comcast is realizing now. Not to mention, say a hospital or medical institution were to use such a system in order to share records privately. Would you want their packets forged and interrupted? |
