[Line Problem] DSL connection problems San Francisco?

Anyone else having trouble with Earthlink DSL dropping out in San Francisco? Has been happening to me the last 2 evenings, but is now also happening during the day.
Nothing has changed in my setup (no new equipment, etc), so I really think it's not a problem on my end. But of course Earthlink support won't say there is any problem.
Thanks.

I'm not clear; do you have an earthlink address or covad.net? You list covad.net on your name tag.

I live in San Francisco, 94115 and have an Earthlink address which is provisioned through Covad.

I can't report any DSL connection problems, in fact, I rarely have loss of connectivity.

Actually, this system automatically added the covad info, so i guess my earthlink is also provisioned thru covad.
Thanks.

WOW. I didn't know that it did that. I wonder why it doesn't pick up my IP as being provided from Covad too.

Anyway back to your question, since we both have Earthlink providing service through COVAD, no problems here.

Have you tested your connection at the Network interface? That would be the first basic step to rule out your home/apartment wiring.

Since Earthlink is your DSL provider, then this is the correct forum for your issues.

Only on anon posts. When you are logged in to your account here then it doesn't show the domain that you are connecting from.

I'm in SF (94109 zip) and I've been having problems for the past few days. My earthlink dsl was out completely when I got home on Thursday afternoon (it was working fine when I left the house that morning). So I called earthlink and they tried all sorts of things to no avail. They eventually scheduled a service call for this Monday. On Saturday morning, the dsl came back to life all by itself. I cancelled the service call, and, of course, it went out again on Sunday night! This morning (Monday) they said they'd send me a new modem, and if that didn't work they'd reschedule the service call. I suspect that it's not my modem, but rather their service in the area. I've tried dial-up, and it drops within seconds of logging in.

I am in the S.F. area and I also am having issues. The connection has not dropped but it has been real jerky for the last few days. I have checked the speed with several speed tests sites and the numbers I get range from 500 to 2800 (3000 line) on the download. The upload, however, is fairly steady at about 700. I am provisioned through Verizon. The speed tests I have done were to local (S.F. area) sites. I have checked the modem stats (I monitor them automatically every min.) and they have not changed in the last week.
