Is SL Still Charging The $70 "Upgrade Fee"I haven't had an opportunity to call and find out if they are still charging to upgrade customers to the 12/768 package.
Just curious to find out if anyone else has been charged this ridiculous, by far, fee. |

I just got off the phone with a rep, and he confirmed that they are still charging the fee. He also said that's why he hasn't gotten the service. Yes, they charge employees, too. |

i checked to see what the highest speed was here in charleston, wv. (12mbps/1mbps) and asked about an installation fee. i would be a new customer with internet only, and my option was a self install or i could have a tech come out and install for $45. |

lol now i'm told 10/1 is the fastest in my area. that is the highest premier package. $69.99/month + the $45 installation would be on the first bill. |

My uncle called Suddenlink and they still charge the fee. And they told him it was 12/768 which is the correct speed. The WV area doesn't have a 1 MB upload.
And it is weird that Suddenlink is still the only cable company to offer 12 Meg service in WV. Makes me wonder if WV is special to Suddenlink. Of course Comcast & Time Warner are the other major cable companies so that may say something. |
