I think he has political aspirations.

So rather than directly to VP of an ILEC, you'll probably see him running for statewide political office in his home state (NC?), with a sh*tload of telco PAC money in his back pocket.

If that doesn't work out going on payroll with an ILEC wiill be Option #2.

I mean I read somewhere that the NC Democratic Party filed a FOIA request asking for his travel records to the state. Just to make sure he isn't campaigning for office the government dime. This is going to be great.
