| Antenna Question
I salvaged some gear recently which included this antenna. What was it used for?
Thanks, Jed |

Anyone try using them, any reviews other than what's on their website? |

I would not be surprised if the bandwidth is very very narrow. But when you don't have room for a normal antenna whatever you can get on the air with is a good choice. |

| reply to jeddak Everyone always gets hung up on bandwidth and SWR.
My dummy load has a very broad bandwidth, and the SWR is an awesome 1.1:1. The noise floor is real low, too. -- New to Forum Life? Click here and learn. |

| reply to jeddak I've read they work miracles, or they're snake oil. Check out the Isotron reviews on eHam.net to see for yourself. I think the consensus is they make the feedline radiate. I've never used one, but I guess they're OK if you're severely restricted for antenna space. -- One man's Magic is another man's Engineering. |

mr weather Premium join:2002-02-27 Mississauga, ON | reply to jeddak I used a 40/80 Isotron for a while. They're not bad but certainly narrow-banded. To be honest, I think the feedline radiates more RF than the antennas themselves. -- "It's all coming down!!" - Mike Holmes |
