Clear QAM HD in SE Detroit?

I was wondering what the current state of "clear" QAM HD was for WOW; the primary reason why I ask this is because at my current residence, which has Comcast, I'm able to record local HD channels to my computer with my Hauppauge HVR-1600 card. Works great.

I'm moving back to Troy in about a month; what is the cheapest TV package I need to order to receive clear QAM HD from the local stations?

(And yes, I know about OTA HD, however I've grown slightly partial to the stability of QAM HD)

WOW doesn't broadcast ATSC signals, however, they do broadcast clear-QAM. Right now that is just local HD stations and the music stations. The picture quality is pretty good compared to Comcast's more recent changes.

The new revision of the 1600 allows for QAM tuning. So if he has a newer card he'll be able to get QAM signals.

I do have the 1600 with QAM. Good to hear that I'll be able to receive HD. Do I need to order the HD package, or will regular basic cable receive clear QAM?

Basic cable will give you the locals. If you want the good HD channels such as Discovery and so on, then you're out of luck.

No you need a high definition cable box to receive the HDPak channels.

anyone have any experience tuning in HD channels with SageTV?

I have it scanning channels right now but I've yet to come with anything. I found my channel line-up here;

but I'm a little thrown off with this "hrc" syntax. What is the proper syntax to remap the physical channel with this hrc prefix - example "9-hrc-6" ?
