Nice. that upgrade to 8000/2000 for just 10 bucks seems like a great deal too.

Are you considering that?

probably not as the upload isn't really worth it to me.... and i would probably only save a few minutes on downloads

Remember PowerBoost is also possibly playing there. PowerBoost will make any speed test come out higher than it should because it makes the connection faster for a limited amount of time (which is longer than a normal speed test).

My modem is 6 years old, it doesn't support power boost.... after playing with my connection for a few hours i am HIGHLY confident that the update has taken place.

The speed test right before i did the power cycle, was at ~360 something...

I know this is a question that many are begging to answer, so I'll save them the trouble. Nothing personal

Uhh.. 360 something of what? Porn images per second?

~360kbps if you must know.

tests show around 970kbps up... its Comcastic! Now if they would just unencrypt some of their HD channels so i can get them without a cable box, i would changes my opinions about comcast.

CNNHD and Discovery HD - would be nice in clear QAM if anybody from comcast is reading this.

Wow. Rebooted and got this:

SW Download INIT - Via Config file d11_m_sb5100_stpwboost_c01.cm
Upload now is boosted to 4mbps, and then scaled back to ~1.5mbps for the rest of a test transfer I did.

No noticeable impact on download performance with the new config on the 8/768 tier though.

Is that a config file cap or powerboost on that upload?

Also known as speedtest poisoning.

They won't do that. Those are pay channels. The only thing clear QAM will be the locals - ABC,NBC,CBS,FOX,etc
