Reply Notification via text message?

I think there should be away to alert users of replies to their topics via text messaging. That way if one is out and about and away from the internet or pc, they can be alerted if someone replies to their topic by receiving a text message. You would just have to check off the bubble for Text Message when you make a post and submit your cell number somewhere in your profile. Note, the cell number would be hidden from the view of the public.

Anyone want to receive reply notifications via text message be sure to Sign!

It may be news to you, but there is life outside of the internet.

If there is a reply waiting, then it can wait until I next connect to the site.

The price per text message would be to high, both on the end user and the back-end systems needed for justin See Profile to set up. Some of the people on here I PM back and forth a lot (and a few of those probably wish I wouldn't ). I gurantee they wouldn't want to have to pay .10 for each message. Granted they would theoretically be able to not adopt such system for their account, it just isn't worth it.

Next time you do decide to breath non-recycled air (ie: GO OUTSIDE) enjoy it because teh Interwebs will always be here, what is outside might not be

That could cost you a pretty penny just to see a lot of people "object" don't you think?

object.

if you really need it, set "your 10 digit phone number@yourprovidersdomain.com" as your email and use e-mail reply notifications.

one side note, sometimes they use a special domain for email->SMS...like verizon's is @vtext.com, so check with your provider.

That has to be the "wasting time" idea of all time.
