| Still not addressed (recieption/sending)
I'm an old Cingular/AT&T customer. If I use my Motorola flip phones I can get fair reception (2-3 bars) at the vacation home, so we normally plug in one of those CB style antennas into the jack on the phone and we get upwards of 4 bars. We tell our friends to use the old numbers if they are trying to get in touch with us on weekends.
Reception on the iPhone is so bad that I can't even start to use it. I get 1 bar if I'm lucky. There is no place to plug in an external antenna.
So in addition to fixing the Edge network they (AT&T / Apple) needs to address the reception/sending issues with the phone.
In town it's ok, but on the fringes of the network it is the pits and we have to revert to different phones. We keep the Motorola's only to get service at the vacation home....
So Apple has their work cut out for them. Fancy phones are only as good as they can send and receive messages and these have MAJOR issues in this area...
The wife and I have 4 & 8 gig phones so it's a phone issue and not isolated to just one phone but I'd guess all of them!! |
