[DSL] ADSL Modem suggestion gaming & VoIP

I am using AT&T for DSL service and I am around 8,000 feet from the CO. Speed is ~5300 kbps down and ~640 kbps up with a ping ~60-100 ms.

What would be a good ADSL modem for me? Primary uses Gaming, Streaming Video, VoIP, Remote PC connections.

Currently I am using the Motorola/Netopia 2210-02 1002 supplied by AT&T.

Planning to use a D-Link DGL-4500 Gaming Router as well.

Thanks for any advice you experts could provide!

All looks good. For some reason I thought you had issues with your line when I read it this morning.

I am not familiar with that modem they sent you. Pretty much any router will work with the modem. A linksys, dlink, netgear, etc.

Some else should be able to tell you for sure. I would let the modem control your PPPoE login information and just use the router for the QoS, port forwarding, etc. That way you can access your modem stats if you need be.

Yeah, I have the modem in bridge mode so the router can peform the DHCP (no double NAT)and PPPoE. Just wanted to know if another router would provide extra benefit in handling the bandwidth I have for gaming etc..

I don't game but unless you are having issues everything seems fine. It doesn't hurt to try another router.

From your tracert you have good latency to google and dslreports.
