| Re: [help] Message from Yahoo said by disconnected :
Hopefully someone is familiar with this issue with using multiple e-mail forwarded addresses as reply to's in Outlook 2003 under Yahoo and can advise me how to set it up and get it back to functional status. I hate it when ISPs muck around with settings and cause me headaches like this, as if I don't have enough other problems to attend to--I don't need to have my e-mail go down, not now. If you are using a non-sbcglobal.net email address through 'smtp.att.yahoo.com', you will need to verify that address:
»help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/c···-07.html
I believe that you can only verify a maximum of ten alternate email addresses per account. If you are trying to use <%User_ID%@example.org> through an account with a <%User_ID%@sbcglobal.net> account with 'smtp.att.yahoo.com', you verify each of up to ten email addresses to do so.
If you need more than that, you need to use the SMTP message submission server which comes with your 'example.org' domain.
Yahoo! is doing this because there business model does not provide them enough revenue to fund the capacity necessary to provide that class of service (officially, they will tell you it is to mitigate spam, but spam is not the problem. The cost of handling the email volume is the problem). -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |
