Howdy all,

I have a wireless router upstairs and need to extend services to my PS3 downstairs. Would I need a WAP or a bridge?

If the PS3 is wired, you need a bridge.
If the PS3 is wireless, you need WDS.

Doesn't the PS3 have built in wifi? Does the range not extend into the basement?

If the signal is there, just weak I'd recommend a better antenna for the wifi router. For less than $20 shipped off ebay you can get a 7 or 8dbi omni with rp-sma (ie dlink) or rp-tnc (ie linksys) pigtail that will help a lot.

Depends on the PS3 model. Some do.
