GuspazGuspazPremium,MVM join:2001-11-05 Montreal, QC kudos:16 | So you can't comment on the throttling case, Rocky... But can you comment on MAKE PARTY?!
Seriously, though, we should begin planning out some sort of celebration for when the throttling ends. As cool as it would be, a party in person wouldn't work too well since TekSavvy's Ontario/Quebec customers are rather spread out (Chatham and Quebec City are quite far apart, even Montreal and Toronto aren't exactly next door).
Any ideas? |

GuspazGuspazPremium,MVM join:2001-11-05 Montreal, QC kudos:16 | The problem with a barbecue is the distances involved, though. What major city is in the middle of the Ontario/Quebec territory? Kingston? That's about the middle, but it's still a 3 hour drive from either Toronto or Montreal. |

TSI plans to have a meeting with the Gamers to discuss the next event and game, so we'll have a chance at that point to, on the 23rd, do the meet and greet thing! -- TSI Rocky - TekSavvy Solutions Inc. |

 | reply to Guspaz Yes, lets not get ahead of ourselves, though it would make me very very happy if Bell gets what they deserve and the indy ISPs become unmolested. |

IRL meetings are difficult due to TSI's Ontario/Quebec territory being about 2500 kilometres wide.
Of course, I doubt there are many customers east of Quebec City, but that's still 1000km. |

 | reply to Guspaz What more is there to comment on? Be happy that the ball is acutally roling in the right direction. |

Suggestion: online poker tournament. Everyone puts in 20$, winner takes 80%, 2nd takes 20% -$20, and third gets his/her 20$ back. |

 | reply to Guspaz C'mon this is TekSavvy...
Multiple regional partys linked by fat video streams, synced party audio..and 'grill cams'
+dc hubs +game server(s)(think ON vs. QUE) +voip voice chat rooms
think distributed LAN party ! |

 | reply to R0CKY said by R0CKY:Funny... Lets not get ahead of ourselves. This is a joint effort at this point from many ISPs through CAIP, so TSI needs to step back for a minute and let the CRTC and CAIP do their thing. Should TSI&others consider building their own shared network, form a COOP or JV and need engineers to start building it, I would be available. I do not know that much about MANs or even high-end networking gear but I would be willing to learn and have already started investigating costs and fiber handling out of curiosity. (Can always be useful in job interviews.)
I work at a rather ambitious non-ISP company and I might be able to shape its future to raise interest towards investing in such a COOP WAN after we reach the point where we will need high speed wide-area network coverage. However, this point may be over two years into the future. |
