[TWC] Channel Changes in Northeast Ohio

Does anyone have any additional information on when the channel changes are coming to Northeast Ohio...especial the Elyria/Mentor area? All the mails rec'd said it would be completed in March but so far no changes. My understanding is this is supposed to be our port to SDV too.

The channel lineup changes already happened in the Akron area. No SDV yet though

I'm also in a former Adelphia area and the digital channels haven't been realigned.

I guess they're going to do that when they start deploying Mystro to the former Adelphia customers.

The only time-frame they will admit to is "spring" .. yeah, that tells us a lot ....

They claim they will notify each area before the change.

You might check with Customer Service for your area and see if they can switch you over. This area has not been swithed yet, but if you call CS and request it, they will switch you to the new system. The TWC web site for your area should have information on the new channel line up. Changed mine last week and saved a few bucks. YMMV

The new channel assignments have been listed for months but no time-frame other than "spring" is ever stated.

They say tune to 399 for more information, the program is the same one they have been playing for months, the website is exactly the same too.

They will probably make the switch in mass region by region, customer by customer really isn't possible.

I called TWC customer service today and they said that my area should get Mystro and the channel realignment by the end of next month.

Ya, I've been waiting for these changes as well. First it was March, now it's March/April. Also, any word on TWC upgrading the internet service over in the Elyria/Mentor area? I'm supposed to have 15mbps down, but I'm lucky if I get 3mbps on average and I'm tired of calling and complaining about their poor service.

Windstream is about to get a call from me, even if it's 3mbps DSL. At least my speed won't see much of a difference.

We have already gotten the new channels here in Youngstown, OH. Also 1 of my 3 boxes have the new channel guide format and I expect the other 2 will change over very soon.

upgrade this

@rr.com

HORRIBLE!! My 8300 was upgraded to Mystro at 4:30 yesterday morning. I should say is STILL upgrading. I lost 3/4 of my recorded shows, i can no longer pause or rewind live tv and they're telling me that the upgrade is still in process.... 40 hours later! There was no advance warning of this upgrade, even the customer svc people say they didn't know about it till they started getting customer complaints. What a crap way to run a company!! At first they were telling me that the upgrade was to setup the new channel lineup. Nope! Same channel lineup. Now they say the lineup will change next monday (4/21). Guess I'll have to watch everything over the weekend in case they corrupt it all again. Not Happy!!!

I'm starting to believe the Time Warner is punishing us out on the west side for being former Comcast customers. Comcast was the far superior provider. At least I got my full internet speed at all times with them, and then some.

Well, it appears that we are finally getting the channels tonight (4/23). Figures it would happen now since the new billing period starts Friday. Of course, they've apparently chosen to do this during prime time.

When I turned on my DVR, it was nearly unresponsive and kept locking up. I called the customer service number and there's anew message about Former Adelphia and Comcast customers losing channels due to the change-over. I just unplugged the box and plugged it back in. Every channel is working now (the old ones), but the channels all seems to be dropping frames a lot and some like PBS HD are breaking up completely. Seems like they are doing the change right now.

I rec'd the channel updates for standard service (i.e. TV's w/o a set to box 'STB'). My STB's have not yet rec'd the channel changes yet. I'm on the west side in Bay Village.

Ya, no channel update yet. Must have been a fluke the other night, or they were doing a lot of back end stuff. Also, last night a bunch of channels were out, including ABC HD RIGHT when Lost started, very NOT cool!

I guess Dayton and Cincinnati got big updates today, so hopefully we are very soon next

Still nothing here on the west side of Cleveland. I have a feeling that this will be completed by May 1st.
