Go ahead and move it Sashwa.

I work for Centurytel larry, and it does sound like there is a user/password issue if you're getting the red internet light. Your modem settings look fine as far as the VPI/VCI settings. Make sure you aren't putting the "@centurytel.net" in the user ID field behind the user name.

Have you hit the reset button to restore factory settings? Also, I'm assuming you have the linksys out of the equation right now?

If all else fails, you can put the 6100 in bridge mode, and have your Linksys handle the PPPoE session.

To set it to bridge, go back to your VC settings,in one of the drop down boxes you can choose bridge.

You will have to have your linksys router handle the PPOE connection now. Hook the modem to the internet port of the router, access your router from your pc and setup the ppoe connection with your user name and password.

It was already set except the Use the PPP0E was disabled. I tried to enable it but it will NOT take, keeps defaulting back to disable. So I still cant get it to work.
I'm guessing either the modem is bad or I'm a lost cause.
Thanks for the help

Previously, your screen was showing a VPI of 8. Now it shows a VPI of 0. I don't know which is correct for your ISP, but you still need to have that correct even when set as a bridge.

Good call! For CTL, VPI should be 8.

Well It looks like that was it after changing the VPI to 8 and rebooting I got it to work even though I still cant select Use RP PPPoE enabled. I also don't get the internet led to light on the modem.

What is the advantages/Dis Advantages of Bridge mode from what I had?

Now that I am in bridge mode how much trouble would it be to set up another router as a repeater so I can get more SS to my office? I have a Dlink and a Westel router spare.

Thank all of you for the lesson and help.

The internet light will not go on when you have the modem set as a bridge. Your router knows that you are connected to internet, but your modem cannot tell.
What is the advantages/Dis Advantages of Bridge mode from what I had?
The main disadvantage is that it will be harder to access the modem line statistics. In most other respects, once you have your own router it is preferable to set the modem to a bridge.
