| Can't connect to websites?
Since yesteday there is a whole mess of websites I can no longer go to. They are all still working fine. I used a proxy to check them and had friends on different ISP check and they worked fine.
Any ideas, example I can't go to this site »www.corpseclothing.com/ |

| Could be a DNS problem. If you're running Windows open a command prompt and type "nslookup www.corpseclothing.com" without the quotation marks. If the address fails to resolve to the IP address then it's definitely a DNS problem. You can always get around issues like this by statically assigning DNS servers in your TCP/IP configuration for your network card. I use 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2. |

| Link worked for me just now.
Now, that said, I'm finding through the periods of throttling - and I'm not being throttled yet - that I often can't get pages on facebook, or Canoe.ca, last night I couldn't get microsoft.com or the download page for windows onecare.. They eventually pop, but for entire half hours at a time they are glacial. |

| reply to Robbiee i've had this problem before.
you type a typical website in. say www.google.ca and it comes up "Page Not Found". I hit F5 (refresh) and it comes up. the next site i click on, same thing, Page not Found. Refresh it and it loads fine.
connecting to a difference router on the TSI network fixed the problem for me. If you are using a router, simply disconnect from the PPPoE connection then reconnect.
if you don't have a router, reboot the dsl modem. |

@teksavvy.com | no sorry I don't think rebooting is going to fix this(tryed that). This is a problems with a routing node or something. This sucks. |

Non-authoritative answer: Name: www.corpseclothing.com Address: 81.19.179.140
Do you have a command line tool like curl or wget ? They allow you to just fetch the html for the site without trying to interpret it.
If you can fetch the html, it means that it is your browser that is having problems rendering it.
If curl /wget fail, then try a traceroute.
traceroute to 81.19.179.140 (81.19.179.140), 64 hops max, 40 byte packets 1 router1.vaxination.ca (10.0.0.1) 2.773 ms 1.154 ms 1.175 ms 2 erx02.tor.pppoe.ca (206.248.154.120) 17.989 ms 17.899 ms 22.878 ms 3 (69.196.136.1) 17.420 ms 17.150 ms 17.052 ms 4 65.39.198.249 (65.39.198.249) 120.063 ms 16.843 ms 17.430 ms 5 oc48-po4-0.nyc-telx-dis-2.peer1.net (216.187.115.126) 30.982 ms 28.214 ms 27.958 ms 6 oc48-so2-2-0.ldn-teleh-dis-1.peer1.net (216.187.115.34) 120.786 ms 117.767 ms 117.2 11 ms 7 ge-0-1-3.edge-1.sov.lon.uk.as29017.net (195.66.226.141) 117.482 ms 117.972 ms 133.4 02 ms 8 ge-0-3-0.core-1.lhc.lon.uk.as29017.net (89.145.125.17) 117.264 ms 260.904 ms 132.19 5 ms 9 gateway.lightning.net.uk (83.223.97.35) 118.118 ms 118.936 ms 125.562 ms 10 81-19-179-140.reverse.lightning.net.uk (81.19.179.140) 122.072 ms 123.747 ms 117.73 6 ms
If you see a !H as the last line before failure, it means that that router doesn't know how to reach that IP. If you see it, then call your friendly Teksavvy tech support and having him try to traceroute to that IP to see if he gets the same thing. |
