Can't connect to websites?

Since yesteday there is a whole mess of websites I can no longer go to. They are all still working fine. I used a proxy to check them and had friends on different ISP check and they worked fine.

Any ideas, example I can't go to this site »www.corpseclothing.com/

Could be a DNS problem. If you're running Windows open a command prompt and type "nslookup www.corpseclothing.com" without the quotation marks. If the address fails to resolve to the IP address then it's definitely a DNS problem. You can always get around issues like this by statically assigning DNS servers in your TCP/IP configuration for your network card. I use 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2.

Link worked for me just now.

Now, that said, I'm finding through the periods of throttling - and I'm not being throttled yet - that I often can't get pages on facebook, or Canoe.ca, last night I couldn't get microsoft.com or the download page for windows onecare.. They eventually pop, but for entire half hours at a time they are glacial.

Works fine for me, maybe it's a DNS problem.

I did the nslookup and it did resolve to the IP but still can't view the sites.

It could also be a browser issue. If you're using Internet Explorer have you tired to access the site with Firefox?

or it could have to do with this. Doesn't look to be anything on my end.

If it's a browser issue delete the temporary internet files (for IE) or cache for Firefox that should solve the problem

i've had this problem before.

you type a typical website in. say www.google.ca and it comes up "Page Not Found". I hit F5 (refresh) and it comes up. the next site i click on, same thing, Page not Found. Refresh it and it loads fine.

connecting to a difference router on the TSI network fixed the problem for me. If you are using a router, simply disconnect from the PPPoE connection then reconnect.

if you don't have a router, reboot the dsl modem.

no sorry I don't think rebooting is going to fix this(tryed that). This is a problems with a routing node or something. This sucks.

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: www.corpseclothing.com
Address: 81.19.179.140

Do you have a command line tool like curl or wget ? They allow you to just fetch the html for the site without trying to interpret it.

If you can fetch the html, it means that it is your browser that is having problems rendering it.

If curl /wget fail, then try a traceroute.

If you see a !H as the last line before failure, it means that that router doesn't know how to reach that IP. If you see it, then call your friendly Teksavvy tech support and having him try to traceroute to that IP to see if he gets the same thing.

what router were you on when this problem occurred? I think its a TSI router issue with erx04 as I had made a similar thread regarding the issue as well as others who have reported same.

Do you have your MTU set correctly?

you have to keep rebooting until you're on a different gateway.
