It seems fixed now, but how widespread was this, and how long did it last? What happened?
My ADSL modem maintained apparent connection to the CO, but I had no internet. Dial-up service was apparently not interrupted. I let Level One support begin marching me through the reboot, etc., diagnostic script, but early into it he asked me if I lived in Brecksville. When I affirmed that this was my local node, he took that as sufficient diagnosis, and asked that I wait a few hours for restoration of service.
