I uninstalled SP3 RC2 and it worked right away. I have automatic updates turned on and it told me it wanted to install SP3 RC2. A little further researched revealed that MS has recently released SP3 RC2 "refresh". Since it was coming up a security update I went ahead and installed it and am happy to say that remote desktop connection is still working. If worse came to worse I was going to reimage my HD being I am also running WHS here at home and do daily backups. Thanks again BigEd.
