Download DrTcp

Set Tcp Receive Window to 32120

Set Windows Scaling, Time Stamping, Selective Acks, Path MTU Discovery, Black Hole Detection to Default.

Leave Max Duplicate Acks and TTL Blank

Using the drop-down menu in The Doctor set your NIC’s (Ethernet adapter’s) MTU to 1500.

Save/Exit DrTcp

Reboot

Rerun the Tweak Test

Run Two Speed Tests from the two DIFFERENT cities nearest to you that are listed here: Speakeasy POPs

Also, test here »ftp://ftp1.optonline.net/test512

Note your transfer rate after about 30 seconds. Then cancel the download.

Post the URL for the New Tweak Test. For the TWO Speakeasy Tests, Copy and Paste the speed results from those tests and note the speed from the FTP download test.

You are testing way over what you claim as your DL speed (!500kb). Do you have PowerBoost or something like that? Are you sure about the 1500kb?

I don't do gaming on line, so I cannot answer your question. However, most ISP plans are NOT symetrical.

Hmmm well sorry about that.

I got my advertised speed from checking a few websites and finding the same 1500kb but I found this site that says they also offer cable speed 128: »Company entry - Millennium Digital Media - Northwest Region
does that mean 128kb/s?

Also got from another source that the company advertises 1.5 but only guarantee 768k

No, I am not using anything like Powerboost

This is odd. It says the best they offer is 1.5mb. Well, you are looking good.

No, The ISP control the rates (Up and Down). There is nothing that you can do about it except look for another ISP with with higher rates.
