flyingjackal : blue ridge is a great company.... just the internet service they offer (i sadly use)

while it is fast and always on....

they are very shady in how they deal with customers.

They (PennTeleData) act cocky and treat customers like crap, they also have a lot of shady things they do with their TOS. Their highest bandwidth tier never sees the advertised 15000 download, more like 12000. One thing that pisses me, and alot of other PTD users... is the Bandwidth caps. They are supposedly 80GB down/45GB up as of maybe 4-6 months ago. Besides the fact that anyone who actually uses their internet for what it's designed for will burn up 80GBs in about 2-3 weeks. The problem is, these "caps" and NEVER advertised, not even in the fine print.

I happen to know a bit about how they run the buisness, and they waste their own time and money because of their stupidity.... File cabinets at a job agency is one thing, but an internet company should have abolished alphabetized file cabinets and got a damn server. Then they don't need to waste time and manpower doing what servers already do for free. Their minimal services they offer are also crap. G-mail gives me 6GB of email for free... I believe PTD gives me about 10-15 MB as part of the ~$60/month service.

They need to wake up and get ready, because the second FiOs hits the poconos, they'll be out of a job.

stunnerstorm : I had a rant on here about 2 months ago about how slow Blue Ridge was in adding HD channels to their lineup. Since that time they have added:

VS./Golf HD
The Weather Channel HD (no local on the 8's in HD yet. It's the national feed)
Sportsnet NY HD
Yes Network HD
CNN HD
Nat Geo HD
MHD(which really isn't worth anyones time)

So 7 HD channels in 2 months isn't bad at all for a total of 27 and they say many more to come.
