[Speed] Does Comcast limit MTU?

I've set my MTU to 1500, but when I run the tweak test it tells me my MTU is 1415. What gives?

I'm just wondering why I cannot change my MTU (or why it says 1415 on the tests but I have it set to 1500 everywhere on my PC)?

What utility are you using to change your TCP settings?
I've used DRTCP and TCPOptimizer both.

Cablenut detects I'm running W2K, but I'm running XP. Is this a problem?

Are you running (or have installed ) ANY vpn/encryption/proprietary client(s) (AOL/Netzero/etc.)?
If so which one(s)?
Are you using IPv6 exclusively? (ie no IPv4 available)

I have a Cisco VPN client installed, but am not using at the moment. There is encryption software on my PC called PointSec.

Not sure what IPv6 is??

If that doesn't do it, then I would focus on the the VPN software as tshirt See Profile noted. Even though you aren't using the VPN now, it will dictate what global MTU is used.
