sanfranson : Dear Dane,

"ADSL2". That is a particularly unmemorable acronym. To give greater prominence to this marvelous new service, it needs a marvelous new name.

As a ferinstance: "Canola oil". Doesn't that sound like a smooth, mellow comestible? Who would believe that in its former transmogrification it was "rapeseed oil". Imagine having to try to sell the mothers of America on the idea that it was better to pour this down their loved ones' throats than traditional corn oil. (Although "corn oil" doesn't ring any bells either. Maybe "maizulushous", or "cornubial"?)

So, how about a naming contest? The winner would get "Lightspeed" service for life from Sonic. The 10,000 second place winners would get baseball caps with the Sonic logo. (Hey, how about a contest to redesign the Sonic logo? Isn't it too realistic for a mature company? Shouldn't it be more exciting but less comprehensible?)

I await your reply with anticipation.
--
Cordially,

SANFRANSON
