What's stopping the RIAA from signing up with a residential IP, joining a torrent, and viewing all the peers currently downloading/uploading? Nothing.  They can go ahead and log the users who have uploaded to them, and then fire off one of their notices to the ISP of the user.<br><br>What is PG going to do for you then? Are they going to ban every residential ISP out there? They would have to, wouldn't they? Every ISP could be helping the RIAA/MPAA, and not even know it.<br><small>--<br>nfx</small>]]></description>

Just as there are legitimate IPs on the list there are illegitimate IPs not on the list.<br>c) Since the blocklists are freely available to anyone they know exactly what IP ranges are on the list and what IP ranges are not.<br>d) There is nothing stopping them from using a outsourcing to another organisation with a different IP range.|<br>e) There is nothing stopping them from using a non-blocked, residential internet connection.<br><br>A false sense of security is worse than no security at all.<br><br>Fact: Anyone who actually relies on this is a moron <br><small>--<br>Spread the joy of herpes</small>]]></description>
