Ya I see the advantages of remote hosting, but I'm talking about serving low traffic with uber-low bandwidth pages. Do they have a way to check all the customers for hosting http?

they can just watch all the incoming http requests to your modem

it is against policy but if you don't abuse your account they wont bother you. If your doing mad torrents and hosting you may get a phone call.
