I already have a DVI to HDMI adaptor ready to rip. I am planning on going that route and running the audio optical if the cable box allows. If not I will see how it can transmit the audio.

It would just make it so much easier to get the digital audio and vidio in the same wire. Unless there is an optical out it will result in analog sound with a digital picture.

The STB does have optical out. I'm currently using the DVI & optical audio for my setup.
