Re: Working for Cogeco's internet call center?

Good luck getting any of us to talk about our bonuses, but the perks are nice

NYD

What kind of perks? I didn't want to know anything specific about bonuses/amounts. I was just wondering if you enjoy the work and if commission is hard to come by or if it happens often. The reason I ask is that the pay to start is considerable lower than his current pay and we are on the fence about him taking the job because we are unsure if the commission will be enough to cover the shortfall. Thanks

Perks I don't think is something we can share with the public either however, I have been at Cogeco for almost 6 years,The management is great(I am not kissing any A@#'s) benefits, vaca etc.

I also took a 50% pay cut(if you consider the 66% US exchange rate at the time) to come and work for Cogeco, that is the past now and I'm glad I made the jump. Unless Cogeco feels they don't need me anymore I can tell you I don't ever plan on leaving(even after I win the Super 7 or 649 this weekend). However, I don't know how the call center/tech support is...I do envy those people though, not an easy job mentally.

I just would look at how much it would affect your lives by taking a paycut and decide if thats something he really wants to do or jobhunt and compare. The advantage I had, I worked for a Contractor of Cogeco in the past so I knew what the company was about, this was a big jump for me.

Just post anonymously. I'm not interested in a new job, but it's always interesting finding out what other people get.
