Yes, I'm running the stock heatsink with the shroud. It's the old style big aluminum block heatsink. Dell just sent me another one with copper pipes and fins. The surface area is much larger. So I'm wondering if I should bother taking my workstation apart just to change the heatsink if the old heatsink is keeping the Q6600 cool enough already at around 35 degrees idle.

I just told Dell my PC is running hotter than my liking. They said there's a newer version available and sent it to me to replace my old one. I would say it's normal . Most of the duals and quads I've looked at one side/core runs coolers than the other . Also DELL's temp. readings have never been that accurate .
