Re: EZ-Tag online orders

The status page changed from "PENDING" to "SHIPPED" earlier today. I got curious and gave them a call -- the guy I talked to on their customer service number told me that the 10-15 day estimate is there so that they don't run into any problems with impatient customers if there is a delay with tags or shipping. In my case, I was told that everything went smoothly, and that my tag was mailed out today from Houston via USPS. Since this is a local shipment, I should have it by Saturday, or Monday at the latest.

Until then, I can go through the toll plaza lanes and their system will recognize my license plate and withdraw the money from my account based on that. The only drawback of this is that the on ramps and off ramps don't have cameras, so I would still have to stop and pay with those.

Either way, this isn't too bad.

Nothing on Saturday, nothing on Monday. I have my doubts about my EZTAG actually being shipped out last Thursday... or maybe it wasn't shipped from Houston after all.

It's nice that I can go through the toll plazas, but it sucks having to dig through my wallet once I get to the offramps.

It is pretty handy once you get it. The company I work for uses them for easier access to all of its parking areas. It is nice not having to roll down the window if it is raining. Can also be used in some pay parking garages. Number one reason I got one though was the Westpark tollway though. There was a six week period that I needed to use it everyday. Very nice.
