Hingham, MA | I believe it depends on the capability of the central office- most probably use fiber by now, but this wasn't always the case, and fiber-optics aren't necessarily a precondition for DSL. | |

kudos:1 | There is p2p microwave links, coaxial cables, and if your insane enough bonded T1s with amplifiers every 10kft. Wouldn't be too surprised if some rural COs are powered by satellite (voice quality and dialup must royally suck). | |
