My iPhone's reception is equal to or slightly better than most of the other phones I've used, including Motorola.
I'll be very interested to see how iPhone's 3G works compared to my blackjack. Because virtully everywhere I use my cell is on the "fringe" of serviceability, my blackjack seemed to have all kinds of trouble deciding whether to use 3G or Edge, and seemed to often drop calls as a result of it.
