Slow Speeds in CT?

Just wondering, but has anyone else in Hartford County area of CT been experiencing exceptionally slow upload speeds recently? Typically I get about 600KBps on AT&T Elite, but since the other day it's been between 30-100KBps. Modem tells me everything is fine, so I'm at a loss.

Good here in Windsor.

Have you tried powering down everything (modem, router, PC, and anything else in the line) for a minute or so then starting it back up? That works for me when it gets bogged down.

Tried all that when I first noticed the problem, no change. Both my Mac and PC are getting the same readings when on the network, and while connected directly to the modem. Download speed was down to about 3MBps yesterday afternoon as well, but it's now a steady 5.05MBps. If upload hasn't cleared up by some time later today, probably have to give AT&T a call.

I rebooted everything just now (08:43), and came up with this:

Your Throughput

Download = 5.021 Mbps
Upload = 740.05 kbps

which is excellent for me. I usually hang around 4.8-4.9, and 650ish.

Try the direct forum rather than calling AT&T, less aggrevating.

I have an application that is really bad with the speed, but the speed test still shows normal for both upload and download though.

There's something up on certain routes..

That application I was having speed issues with is working better too. It had to be the same problem, but I don't know why it didn't show up on my speed test.

Mine went south again

At least we know we're all getting hit by the same thing.

Everything *seems* to be back to normal, uploads back to a steady 610'ish KBps. Just one of those weird ADSL hiccups I guess. Of course, now I'm completely paranoid and checking my speed every time I log on.

Suddenly been real slow here in western CT too for the past week. Wife says she's only getting "Basic" quality on Netflix.com. I can't play any videos on Vimeo.com without waiting 20 minutes to buffer a 4-minute video. And Speakeasy's speed tests are down:

Download Speed: 1638 kbps (204.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 433 kbps (54.1 KB/sec transfer rate)

Usually we see about 2600/470.
