yet another: let's see if the customer notices...

I really have come to believe that Verizon has purposely made this their policy in just about anything they do regarding billing.... People who do notice get the run around intentionally and they hope the customer tires from all the wasted time and energy so that they give up...

Word of advice to anyone who receives a "accidental" bill and the issue unresolved after ONE phone call. Contact your state Attorney General's office and file a complaint immediately... you'll be amazed how fast that billing issue will be resolved. Matter of fact Verizon, has an entire department dedicated to dealing with customer complaints that the government follows up on... just another incidental cost to the "let's see if the customer notice's and has the energy to defeat are system we can rake in some extra money"

Customer complaints to your state also get recorded and taken into account whenever Verizon asks for something.

Good point. I will wait till next month to see if the 3.99 charge comes off and will then give Mr. Cuomo's office a jingle.

Kudos to Karl for this great piece of investigative journalism.

It's a really sad state when companies decide to join insurance companies, banks and airlines, banks as industries that keep us all watching our backs.

It is especially perplexing with insurance companies, banks and airlines, as the very essence of their business is that we have to trust them, with our security, money and lives. How many people would hire a cleaning company that would steal from us every time we weren't looking? Yet when companies pull stunts like this one, it costs them few customers.

In today's business envionment, a good business motto and policy would be "We Won't Screw You, Even When We Think We Could Get Away With It." A business that develops a no-screw reputation will make a fortune.
